  ANALYSIS & OPTIMIZATION

The most effective Error-Proofing integrates seamlessly with your business systems. Pyramid achieves this through three key components:

1. Order Processing
Effectively connecting the order stream with the plant’s business system to the plant floor for scheduling and production is critical. Strategic processing promotes operations efficiency and helps meet the OEM’s production schedule. Our processing component can receive and process the incoming order broadcast from the OEM, or it can be integrated directly into the plant ERP system. Repairs and special orders can also be accommodated, allowing your operation to respond without missing a beat. The end result is customized to your specific needs, but a general scenario goes like this:

  • Open work orders are approved for manufacturing on a daily basis.
  • Approved work orders are provided automatically to the production line in the sequence established by the broadcast.
  • As work orders are executed and completed, build details and test results are recorded.
  • Closed work orders are returned to the ERP system for inventory relief and to create shipping bills of lading.

2. Bill of Material Assimilation
The ability to automatically Bill of Material into the system significantly boosts efficiency when it comes to configuring the EPS.

  • The process engineer or designer of the production line sets up the EPS using part numbers and descriptions that are easily recognizable.
  • These same part numbers are used by the EPS to determine the work content for each item as it travels down the assembly line.
  • Finally, the same Bill of Material is used to validate (mistake-proof) components and sub-assemblies as they are selected and scanned at each workstation on the production line.

3. Data Transfer
This component delivers critical production information to the plant business systems, if required. Items such as the air bag serial number, steering column final torque and angle values and key lock information can be uploaded for warranty and long-term product data management.

Pyramid helps manufacturers optimize Error-Proofing from the ground up – including the next phase of production, Assembly Line Management.
