Direct Connectivity to EtherNet/IP!

Pyramid Solutions’ NetStaX EIPLD-M Middleware & Driver Package enables you to quickly interface your Motorola XR440, 450 or 480 series fixed RFID Reader to ControlLogix or CompactLogix controllers via EtherNet/IP.  The EIPLD-M will also work with any other compatible EtherNet/IP Scanner Class device, since it utilizes standard methods of communicating with the RFID Reader on EtherNet/IP.

The EIPLD-M's installable middleware & driver can be loaded onto a supported RFID Reader to add EtherNet/IP Adapter Class connectivity to the device.  The EIPLD-M utilizes the reader’s existing Low Level Reader Protocol (LLRP) interface to allow the host PLC or other controller to configure / command the reader and to read / write RFID tag data (Class1 Gen2 RFID tags only) through EtherNet/IP, using standard EtherNet/IP messaging.

Since no PC or other hardware / software is required, your plant floor equipment and cabling requirements are simplified, points of failure are eliminated, making this solution extremely cost effective.

The EIPLD-M package consists of installable middleware & driver, installation & license manager utility, user documentation and sample PLC logic (ControlLogix) that demonstrates how the controller interacts with the RFID Reader via EtherNet/IP to read or write tags from one or more connected antennas and to control each individual antenna.

Motorola RFID Reader Compatibility

  • Compatible with Motorola XR440, 450 and 480 Series RFID Readers running firmware version 3.3.6 and above.
  • Supports 1 to 8 antennas (up to 4 on the 440/450 & up to 8 on the 480)
  • Requires no additional resources or hardware changes to the reader
