EtherNet/IP Scanner Simulation Tool (EIPScan)

Version 1.23.1 Now Available (August 2009)

Pyramid Solutions' NetStaX EIPScan software tool is a Microsoft Windows application that simulates an EtherNet/IP Scanner device by providing EtherNet/IP Scanner (Client) as well as Adapter (Server) connection and messaging functionality from your PC or Laptop.  EIPScan is highly useful for product development and testing, end of line test, field testing and product demonstrations for your EtherNet/IP connected products.

EIPScan provides EtherNet/IP I/O Server (target), I/O Client (originator) , Message Server and Message Client functionality.  EIPScan is capable of originating a variety of I/O connections based on the connection configuration set by the user.  EIPScan is compatible with Rockwell Software’s RSNetWorx for EtherNet/IP for local or remote network configuration.

EIPScan is primarily sold under a single Node License.

Product Includes:

  • EIPScan executables (standard and logging versions)
  • User Reference Manual
  • EDS file compatible with RSNetWorx for EtherNet/IP

Product Features

  • EIPScan uses a standard PC or Laptop Ethernet port and Windows TCP/IP stack (nothing special or additional required)
  • Graphically add and display devices on the network for connected messages
  • EIPScan acts as a Client or Server for connections and messages
  • Configure and schedule connections
  • View I/O input data
  • View and modify I/O output data
  • Send connected or unconnected explicit messages
  • Perform automated testing of explicit and implicit connections

Compatibility

  • EtherNet/IP Scanner Class (Client/ Originator) functionality
  • UCMM (unconnected) messaging Client and Server
  • Class 3 (connected) messaging Client and Server
  • Class 1 (I/O) connection Client and Server
  • Microsoft Windows NT, 2000 or XP (the software is currently used on Vista & Windows 7)
  • Minimum PC: Pentium II, 233 MHz

* The EtherNet/IP (pronounced ethernet ip or ethernetip) for Ethernet Industrial Protocol and CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) specifications are provided by the ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendors Association).

New Updates for Version 1.23 & 1.23.1

  1. Integrated with EtherNet/IP stack version 4.0.0 (for v1.23.1)
  2. Added "Minimum Delay" as part of the Class1 Statistics
  3. Updated EIPScan EDS file to include all supported CIP objects
  4. Added Scrollbar to Class1 Connection - Configuration edit control
  5. Resolved issues with the following features:
    • Adding Assembly members
    • Sending configuration data for connections
    • Exporting license keys.  Exported license keys are now a single, never expiring license
    • Deleting of data in "Class1 Connection - Configuration edit control" is now persistent
    • Message Log that doesn't contain connection stats when making a connection after the message log is cleared or after loading from a default file
    • Current connection loses focus if another existing connection keeps timing out/not reestablishing
    • Improves I/O connection view output editing (1.23.1)
