ControlNet Adapter Developers Kit (CADK)

The CADK allows developers of ControlNet products and systems to add adapter and messaging class functionality to products using field proven software source code available from the inventor of ControlNet, Rockwell Automation.

The CADK includes the ControlNet Adapter Class Example Code (CNA30S) which gives product developers with a complete set of functions to enable ControlNet connectivity as defined in the ControlNet specification.  The example code also enables connection of a product to ControlNet without requiring the developer to acquire detailed knowledge of the ControlNet protocol or the interfaces to the ControlNet ASICs. Finally, the example code is provided as a set of 'C' source files and is organized around an object model that uses messages to communicate between objects.  This allows for simplicity in design and minimizes the need for globally accessible variables.  Each protocol level of the communications stack is implemented as one or more objects.

A ControlNet Scanner Developers Kit (CSDK) is also available for building Scanner, Adapter and Message Class devices.
