ControlNet Scanner Developers Kit (CSDK)

The NetStaX CSDK allows developers of products & systems to add ControlNet Scanner, Adapter & Message class functionality to products, using field proven source code, available from the inventor of ControlNet, Rockwell Automation.

The CSDK includes ControlNet Scanner Class Example Code (CNA40S), which gives product developers a complete set of functions to enable ControlNet connectivity as defined in the ControlNet specification. The example code also enables connection of a product to ControlNet without requiring the developer to acquire detailed knowledge of the ControlNet protocol or the interfaces to the ControlNet ASICs. Finally, the example code is provided as a set of 'C' source files and is organized around an object model that uses messages to communicate between objects.  This allows for simplicity in design and minimizes the need for globally accessible variables.  Each protocol level of the communications stack is implemented as one or more objects. A ControlNet Adapter Developers Kit (CADK) is also available for building Adapter and Message Class devices.
